NWS issues Hard Freeze Warning from 1 to 9 a.m., Monday

Branford and surrounding areas are under a Hard Freeze Warning, from 1 to 9 a.m., Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are forecasted to be 24-27 degrees, for at least 2 hours and up to 8 hours.

The NWS advises extra precaution for plants, animals, elderly, homeless or anyone or thing that may be vulnerable to the cold, and to take measures to protect the vulnerable.

Students are urged to dress for the weather tomorrow, especially those who are riding the bus or walking to school.

The cafeteria and auditorium will be open tomorrow morning, at 7:45 a.m. for students to get out of the cold.

If there is a need for cold weather supplies, jackets, warm clothes, etc., please see guidance counselors, at BES or BHS.
